Why subscribe to Cultural Conversation from A. J. Black?

You might have found your way here thanks to my books—such as The Cinematic Connery: The Films of Sir Sean Connery—from the original Wordpress incarnation, or via my Twitter, or through various podcast links or even thanks to the old Google. You might be familiar with my work or my voice, even, or you might not. However you arrived, I’m grateful. But what you’ve read & listened to (or are about to) takes plenty of time and plenty of effort.

By subscribing and supporting my writing and podcasting, even in difficult economic times, you’re helping me build the time and space to deliver ever more thoughts and feelings on culture we, in all likelihood, both love. It’s great that you’re giving me some of your time at all.

If you can eventually donate something to support, amazing. That will come a bit later.

What do you get?

Firstly, access to everything I do. Everything comes straight into your email. You don’t have to go anywhere to seek out my work, unlike with a website or social media. Just check your email and it’ll be there.

My pledge to you are at least three posts a week. It could be my own reflections. It could be an essay on something. It could be a podcast link with some additional behind the scenes insight. Every Monday-Wednesday-Friday, there will be a drop. Hopefully more times a week and, as more people subscribe and ideally a community builds, I’ll be looking at a monetised tier with plenty of extra stuff including bonus writing, early podcast releases, and access to a private Discord chat club.

As I said before, that’ll come later. For now, it’s just great that you’re here.

What’s next?

We’ll find out! If you subscribe, you won’t miss a beat as I focus my work here on Substack.com.

Again, thank you.
